Download bank statement transactions as CSV

Download one statement, a filtered set of transactions or several statements combined into one CSV file, ready to import into your accounting software.

Before you start

  • A bank or credit card statement uploaded to the folder’s Bank statements area.
  • A quick check of the extracted transactions, dates and balances against the original statement.

Follow the workflow

  1. Open the folder’s Bank statements area, click Import and upload your statements. Processing starts automatically.

  2. To download one statement, open it and click Export to CSV.

  3. To download a date range or matching transactions, use the search and date filters inside the statement, then download the filtered CSV.

  4. To combine statements, select them in the folder overview and click Export to CSV. All their transactions arrive in one file.

Good to know

  • Choose CSV, XLS or separate files in a ZIP. CSV uses signed amounts; XLS has separate debit and credit columns.
  • Combine up to 300 statements from one folder in a single export.
  • FreeAgent folders can also send transactions straight to the bank account in FreeAgent.
  • A Review required status shows exactly which transactions to check before you import them.

Here’s how to upload bank statements and download their transactions. Open your folder and switch to Bank statements. Click Import, then choose the statements from your computer or drag them into the window. Click Done and processing starts.

Once a statement is Ready, you have three ways to download it. First, a single statement: open it and click Export to CSV. Import that file into your accounting software.

Second, part of a statement: use the search field and date filters inside the statement, then click CSV. Only the filtered transactions go into the file.

Third, several statements at once: go to the folder overview, select the statements and click Export to CSV. Their transactions are combined into one file.
