Good to know

  • Owners and Managers can create folders and invite the people who work in them.
  • A folder works offline until you connect it, exporting to a file. Connect it any time from the folder list.
  • Documents can also arrive by the folder’s own email address, or as photos from the mobile app straight into Purchases.

Transcript

Every company or client you work for gets its own folder in Datamolino. Here’s how to create one and upload your first documents.

A folder holds one company’s documents, with its own email address and its own link to your accounting software. Inside, purchases, sales and bank statements each have their own area.

On your dashboard, click Add Folder.

Give it a clear name, check the country and currency, then click Create Folder.

Next, connect the folder to Xero, QuickBooks or FreeAgent. Or click I’ll do this later, and connect it whenever you’re ready.

There are three ways to get documents in: upload them from your computer, forward them to the folder’s email address, or snap them with the mobile app.

Open the folder and click Import. Choose where the documents go: purchases, sales or bank statements.

Keep Single invoice for one invoice per file, or choose Auto to split a PDF that holds several. Then drop your files in. They’ll appear in the Ready tab, ready to review.

That’s it. Each client has its own folder, documents land in the right area, and you can connect your accounting software now or later.

You’ll find a step-by-step guide in the Datamolino Help Centre.
