The Factory Salon: less invoice entry between appointments

Invoices between salon appointments
Rowan Vernon, managing director of The Factory Salon in Belfast, was handling purchase invoices while also working with salon clients. The original account, published on 16 February 2015, described him moving between appointments and manual data entry.
He wanted to spend more of that time with clients. He found Datamolino through the Sage One marketplace, which was part of the product's integration history at the time.

“Any small business owners or accountant types who are manually entering invoices to your accounts system need to check out Datamolino. You can scan directly to, have your supplier email direct to or drag PDF, Jpeg, Tiff files directly into Datamolino and it automatically reads the content (Supplier, Date, Invoice amount, VAT etc) and exports a copy of the invoice and the info into your Sage or Xero accounting system and files a digital copy of the invoice in the Cloud.
It is really amazing and the Customer Service is excellent. I just had a phone call from their European office asking how I was getting on and offering me some additional assistance. I’ve just saved hours every month manually inputting invoices and no longer need to keep shelves of files with copy invoices stored in as all copies are stored digitally! A workflow for owner-managed businesses
The useful question for another business owner is whether invoice work is interrupting the work only they can do. For a salon, that might mean collecting receipts when they arrive, forwarding supplier PDFs and agreeing who checks the captured documents.
