# Getting started

1. **Request API access**

   Contact Datamolino to agree the integration scope and captured invoice fields.
2. **Use the sandbox**

   Develop against `https://beta.datamolino.com/api/v1_2` before switching the same workflow to production.
3. **Authorise**

   Exchange the issued client credentials for an OAuth access token and store the refresh token securely.
4. **Upload one invoice**

   Start with one synthetic PDF, follow its document status, and inspect the returned structured data.
5. **Register a webhook**

   Use webhooks as the normal completion signal; polling is a fallback rather than the primary flow.

> **Never expose integration credentials**

> Keep the client secret, access token, and refresh token on your server. The examples in these docs use obvious demo values.
